Romero, Huxman, Robertson Lead Elyria Eagles

CANTON – With the snow and cancellations on Friday, one of the few games that got played was Elyria Christian traveling twenty miles down the road to visit Canton/Galva where they raced past the home team and fans to record a decisive 38-point, 66-28 win.
Since their season opening loss to Moundridge, the Elyria boys have now rung up eight wins in a row.
Elyria hurried out to an 11-point, 19-8 advantage by the end of the first quarter before racing even further ahead to gain a commanding 24-point, 39-15 lead heading into the halftime break.
Putting another 26 points on the scoreboard in the third quarter while holding Canton/Galva to just eight, the Eagles lead 65-23 after three quarters on their way to the final 38-point victory.
Leading the offensive assault for Elyria was Ty Romero who scored 23 while both Andrew Huxman and Alex Robertson also reached double digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
For Canton/Galva, only Wyatt Collins reached double digits with 11.
Now 8-1 for the season, the Elyria Eagles will next be on the competitive court on Tuesday when they host Peabody/Burns.
Canton/Galva drops to 5-4 on the season and will play host to Solomon next Tuesday.
