LADY EAGLES SPIKERS SPLIT PAIR OF ROAD MATCHES

WICHITA – Splitting a pair of matches on Friday and Saturday in Wichita, the Elyria Christian volleyball team came home with a split of matches against the Wichita Gladiators and Wichita Christian Academy.
On Thursday, the Lady Eagles won three straight highly competitive sets over the Wichita Gladiators 25-17, 27-25, 25-21.
Among the team leaders in the match were junior Laney Reiff who topped the team in assists with 19 and service aces with eight. Senior Brooke Davidson took out a dozen kills, and freshman Kynli Schneider led the team in diggs with 10.
On Friday, Elyria ran into a buzz saw at Wichita Christian Academy where they lost the match 1-3. After losing 12-25 in the first set, the Lady Eagles bounced back and won the second set by 10 points, 25-15 before the Lady Lions dominated the final two sets, beating Elyria 14-25 and 8-25.
Freshman Kynli Schneider did not shy away from the competition as she topped the Lady Eagles in diggs with 13 while senior Addie Swenson dug out 11. Laney Reiff directed the offense and passed out 14 assists while senior Brooke Davidson and freshman Sidney Hall recorded seven and six kills, respectively.
The Lady Eagles were scheduled to battle Peabody/Burns and defending State Champion Little River at home on Tuesday.
